Library Stained Glass Panels Installed as Funds Raised
Private donations for Library Public Art
Four of the eventual twelve panels are installed in the new library at the Jefferson County Open School. For many of our projects, we create and install panels as funds are raised. Each round of installations helps with the fundraising for the next panels. We have a maquette of the whole design on display nearby so that people can see the final goal.
This project was designed in collaboration with Open School alumnus Kelsey Parks. Her drawing for the windows was translated into stained glass.
The Open School has a deep connection with Creative Stained Glass Studio. Co-owner Matthew Durbin initially joined CSGS as a student at the Open School through their apprenticeship program. His brother, Philip Durbin is our head craftsman and also a graduate of the Open School. Their siblings Rosie Durbin and Luke Durbin are teachers at the Open School. We are so pleased to be able to give something back to a place that has given us so much. Lets just say that the School is getting a good deal on their stained glass.
CSGS also donates much of our scrap glass to the stained glass class at the Open School.
